Absurdism is often misassociated with silly chaos. Like a musical theater production written by a college freshman with an overabundant imagination and a commensurate lack of technique. A zebra doing a hand stand enters stage right. It says, “Meow!” A man in a leotard enters stage left. He declares, “I’ve always loved you mother!”
No one has any idea what is going on.
It is dismissed as buffoonery.
But disregarding the legitimacy of such a potent philosophy is unfortunate. Hidden behind the veil is a subtle message that resonates deeply within even the most practically minded human creature—truth has limitations. The search for meaning is clouded by the inadequacy of our own intelligence.
Absurdism recognizes this and offers a solution. Free yourself from the encumbering desire for everything to make sense.
